Be Still . . .

Then Paul answered, "Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."
(Acts 21:13 (NIV))
Do you love your life?
This passage clearly shows what Paul thought. He had been warned that if he returned to Jerusalem, people were plotting to kill him.
Did that stop him?
He knew exactly what his priorities were. He knew exactly what he was called to do.
He knew that he had to proclaim the name of Jesus no matter the worldly consequences.
Are you that bold?
As believers, we have been called to be a witness to the world. We are called to be the light to the world. We are called to share the good news of Jesus. We have no other assignment! In fact, these were words spoken not too long before He ascended into heaven.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
(Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV))
We were not told to proclaim the name of Jesus only if it is safe to do so. We were told to proclaim the name of Jesus to all nations and not to be concerned about the consequences.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
(John 16:33 (NIV))
Do you have a heart like Paul? What are you willing to endure in order to tell people about Jesus? Are you prepared in season and out of season?
What are you ready for?
