Be Still . . .

Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm.
(Proverbs 13:20 (NIV))
When you look at the world, are people walking in wisdom or in foolishness?
My nest question is focused a lot closer to home.
When you look at your life, are you walking in wisdom or in foolishness?
Be careful how you answer!
The fool says in his heart,
"There is no God."
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
there is no one who does good.
(Psalm 14:1 (NIV))
This passage clarifies how a companion of fools suffers harm. It is especially important during these times that we make sure that we surround ourselves with people who also profess a faith in Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. We do not want to deny the Lord and become a companion of fools. We don't want to be cast away and told by Jesus that He never knew us!
We want to embrace the wisdom that is found only in the Lord. We want to embrace the truth that is found only at the cross. We want to embrace the grace and mercy that is found only because of the empty tomb. We want to surround ourselves with people who also desire these things. The wrong companions in this life will have eternal ramifications if we allow ourselves to be led astray by fools.
With all of this in mind, take a good look at your life and truthfully answer this one last question.
Who are your companions?
