Here we see Jesus the Son, the Father, and our Advocate, the Spirit in action. Three in one and one of three. The three beautiful members of the Godhead. Each with different roles and distinction of persons yet marvelously one God.
"IfyouloveMe, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth."
Jesus, John 14:15-17a BSB
Let's extract a bit from this passage of Scripture :
1. Me, My, I = Jesus
2. Father, He = Father
3. Advocate, Spirit = The Holy Spirit
+1. you, you, you, you = you (if you love Jesus and keep His commandments of love, not perfectly but wholeheartedly)
Let's not neglect the big IF. IF you love me, then you will obey my commandments. Love is the catalyst and consistent driver. The pure passion of true love is essential and the difference maker.
We love God for He loved us first, so says the Bible. When and IF we respond accordingly, then God promises to gives us His Spirit, His salvation which seals us and brings us into fellowship with God.
