Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
(Romans 3:23 (NIV))
Every person who professes a faith in Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior knows this passage. It is what we cling to once we come to the realization that these words are true.
But, do we pay as much attention to the rest of this passage?
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
(Romans 3:24 (NIV))
We should, for these words are the words that can bring us out of the helplessness and hopelessness that we experience when we do realize the truth behind Romans 3:23.
This is a perfect example of a "but, God" moment where He shows us the depths of our despair and sin, and then shows us what He has done to save us from ourselves. I don't know about you, but I love the "but, God" moments that we all experience, but in order to fully experience them, you have to accept the grace and the redemption that is only found in Jesus!
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
(John 3:16-18 (NIV))
Have you accepted the amazing gift of God's love?
Have you been justified by grace?
