Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
(John 16:33 (NIV))
Take a look around you!
Everywhere you look, there is trouble. There are wars and rumors of wars. Nation is rising against nation and kingdom is rising against kingdom. Israel is surrounded by people intent on her destruction. Good is called evil and evil is called good. People are confused about gender, and people are rejecting Jesus at an alarming rate. But, there are those who are recognizing Jesus and accepting Him as their personal Lord and Savior as well.
We are seeing the parable of the wheat and the tares coming to life!
The more that I see unfolding, the more that I am certain of the truth contained within these words.
All your words are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal.
(Psalm 119:160 (NIV))
I see truth in every single word on every single page!
The more that I read and pray, the more that I understand. The more that I understand, the more that I want to read and pray!
We are told that trouble will overcome the world. We are also told that by placing our faith in Jesus, we will overcome because He has overcome.
Do you truly know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?
If your answer to this is "Yes," then I have one more question for you.
Why are you still troubled by the things of this world?
