Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God's commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.
(Revelation 12:17 (NIV))
Do you keep God's commands?
Do you hold fast to the testimony about Jesus?
On the surface, these appear to be easy questions to answer. However, if you are completely honest with yourself, you may find that your answers are not what you think they are.
Is your life comfortable? Are you more concerned with your checkbook than you are with God's Word? Do you spend more time in your favorite hobby or interest than you do in God's Word? Do you go through life with an attitude that I have mine, or does your heart break for what breaks God's heart?
I could go on and ask more questions, but I hope you understand that I am simply asking you to take a close look at what your priorities are in life. Do you love the sinful, fallen world or do you love the Lord with all your heart, mind and spirit?
If you profess a faith in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, does your family know it? Do your friends know it? Does the world know it?
Does the enemy know it, or does he see you as someone to ignore?
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
(Matthew 5:10-11 (NIV))
This may seem like a strange question, but would you consider yourself to be blessed in this manner? Are you willing to stand your ground in your profession of faith in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior in the midst of persecution?
How strong is your faith?
Is it strong enough to endure the war waged by the dragon?
Are you under attack for your faith in Jesus?
