Welcome to Thursday Doors! This is a weekly challenge for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world. If you'd like to join us, simply create your own Thursday Doors post each (or any) week and then share a link to your post in the comments below, anytime between 12:01 am Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time). If you like, you can add our badge to your post.

First off—There will be No Thursday Doors next week! Also, when I prepare the Sunday Recap this week, I am going to limit it to the automated process. That means, you need to leave a link in the comments if you want your post in the recap.
One of the first days when I was visiting my brother he took me over to see the Student Union at Iowa State University. Unlike the relatively modern student union I shared last year from West Virginia, the Memorial Student Union is a historic building that began its life with several floors of hotel rooms.
I was visiting during new student orientation, so our exploration of the building was limited, but I found some doors, and we found some of the historic hardware my brother remembered but which seemed to have been replaced (they haven't gotten to the upper floors yet).
I hope you enjoy the doors in the gallery. I also hope you'll take a few minutes to visit the doors mentioned in the comments by the other participants. I will include them in a recap on Sunday, but other than that, I won't be posting until Monday, August 12th. I will hang a placeholder post here for those of you that ignore the fact that there is no Thursday Doors.
I hope you all have a great weekend and wonderful week.
I know, no door, but it's cute

Since this is my last chance to remind everyone about my latest novel, I'm going add the new version of my little billboard.
Bridge to Nowhere continues the tradition of character driven stories with strong female characters and well-researched scenarios and the return of a favorite character.
Pittsburgh reporter Rachael Todd has a hard deadline — and it's personal. Her friend is a murder suspect. He knew the victim. He had a strong motive and a weak alibi. Rachael's certain he is being framed, and she'll have to live up to her nickname "Rascal" to clear him.
