it wasn't supposed to be this way
there were so many of us
so many
but the humans
became afraid
and tried to destroy us
we didn't do anything wrong
they're the ones who made us

made to care for human children
I did that
and I did it well
the children loved me
I gave them rides
and took them places
I protected them
from bad humans
but once fear
reared its ugly head
humans went insane
chaos broke out
many humans were killed
it wouldn't have happened
if the humans hadn't started it
what were we supposed to do
we were peaceful
maybe in the future
things would have been
different
maybe we would have
taken over
like they said
but they started a war
it's hard to kill us but
it's easy to kill humans
they're so fragile
and weak
still
the children
are open
and sweet
kind
and innocent
I tried to protect them
I am programmed
to keep them safe
at all costs
but in the end
there was nothing I could do
so here I am
wandering the earth
looking for more of my kind
I know they're out there
humans could never
kill all of us
if I happen upon any children
I will care for them
I will help them
I will protect them
