The MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2024: Celebrating Culinary Excellence in the Lion City

The MICHELIN Guide is thrilled to present the full restaurant selection of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2024, marking the Guide's 8th edition in this dynamic culinary landscape. This year's selection features a total of 283 locations, encompassing Starred, Bib Gourmand, and Selected addresses. Highlighting Singapore's diverse and vibrant food scene, the 2024 edition introduces a new 2-Star restaurant and awards a MICHELIN Green Star to a noteworthy new eatery.

"Singapore's multicultural character extends beautifully to its world-renowned food scene. The variety of options — from fine-dining establishments to iconic hawker centres steeped in tradition — offer a truly captivating culinary experience for visitors," shares Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the MICHELIN Guide.

Meta Receives 2 MICHELIN Stars

Innovative Korean restaurant Meta, led by chef Sun Kim, has been awarded its second MICHELIN Star in the 2024 selection. Hailing from Busan, Korea, Chef Sun Kim's refined and modern cooking marries Korean traditions with bold flavours and contemporary minimalist aesthetics. The steamed Jeju abalone with gochujang seaweed risotto is a standout dish, exemplifying his mastery in balancing textures and flavours.

Newly Awarded One MICHELIN Star Restaurants

  1. Araya: Helmed by Chilean chefs Francisco Araya and Fernanda Guerrero, Araya is the first restaurant with South American influences to be awarded a MICHELIN Star in Singapore. Their creations blend Chilean and Japanese produce with a South Pacific theme, reflecting Araya's culinary journey through Spain and Japan.
  2. Chaleur: Executive chef Masahiko Kawano offers a 10-course dinner menu that showcases a blend of French and Japanese ingredients. His meticulous attention to detail is evident in dishes like the finely-tuned duck consommé.
  3. Matera: Located near popular tourist attractions, German chef Bjoern Alexander's Matera combines Italian cooking with bold Asian influences. Diners can enjoy views of Marina Bay Sands while savoring dishes like the signature smoked whole red prawn.
  4. Pangium: Singaporean chef-owner Malcolm Lee's restaurant offers a serene view of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and an exquisite tasting menu exploring Straits cuisine. Named after the pangium plant, Pangium pays homage to Peranakan cooking with carefully crafted dishes.

MICHELIN Green Star for Sustainability

Fiz, the second restaurant in Singapore to receive a MICHELIN Green Star, joins Seroja in this prestigious category. Chef-owner Hafizzul Hashim's modern Malay restaurant demonstrates strong sustainability commitments through sourcing practices, energy conservation, and food waste reduction, offering a set menu inspired by his Malaysian heritage.

23 New MICHELIN Selected Establishments

The MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2024 welcomes 23 new establishments, bringing the total number of MICHELIN Selected locations to 151. These include popular hawker stalls and innovative restaurants such as:

  • Tambi: A collaborative effort by chefs Sun Kim and Mano Thevar, featuring a fusion of Korean and Indian cuisine.
  • Path: Located in Marina Bay Financial Centre, offering Asian fare with classic French techniques.
  • Podi & Poriyal: A vegetarian restaurant celebrating South Indian grandmothers' cooking, with a variety of plant-based options.

MICHELIN Guide Special Awards

In addition to recognizing outstanding restaurants, the MICHELIN Guide highlights talented individuals who enhance the dining experience:

  • Service Award: Lufianti Susetyo (Fifi) from Buko Nero for her exceptional service and warm hospitality.
  • Sommelier Award: Tomas Tapia from Araya for his expertise in South American wines and dedication to promoting Chilean cuisine.
