Be Still . . .

And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
(2 John 1:6 (NIV))
Walking is the basic form of human transportation!
It gets us from point A to point B. It is the basic foundation of any journey that we take. Anything that we do requires us to stand and go. It requires multiple decisions to be made. We must first decide that we will go and where we will go. We then must decide when and how we will go.
Some journeys are tedious. Some are joyful. Some find us walking away from something, while others find us walking toward something. No matter what the journey, we meet others who are also going on their own journey. They, like us, are either walking away from something, or they are walking toward something.
We never know who we will meet on our journey!
We do know that we should not judge those whom we meet. We should not be condescending or hateful, for we do not know what their story has been. They, like us, are simply navigating through this life in this sinful, fallen world the best that they can. For those who have professed a faith in Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, we know where our journey leads. We also know who we walk with. Because we walk with Him, we are to show His love to all whom we encounter. It is this love that allowed us to see His grace and mercy as our own. It is this love that will allow others to see His grace and mercy as their own.
We have a choice in how we walk through this life!
We can be resentful, mean and hateful, or we can walk in His mercy and be gracious, kind and loving.
This reminds me of some wise words that I have encountered before.
We may be the only Jesus that some people will ever see!
Are you walking your path in life in such a way as to show Jesus to everyone you meet?
Do you walk this way?
