Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. I'm slowly descending into insanity thanks to the noisy neighbors' dogs. Our forecast for today: 89°, partly cloudy, no rain, winds from the east at 4-12 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 90%.
Y'all. These dogs. I would love a couple of million bucks right now. I'd buy some land, build my parents a house on it, build myself a house on it, fix this place up and sell it. I am over all these dogs barking and all these cats yowling around.
I bought some canning supplies yesterday. Got about four pint jars with lids washed and air drying. Washed the new water bath canner. By the time everything was washed, it was way too hot to make pickles. So, I'm hoping to get them done today.
I also need to get my laundry done today. I completely forgot about it yesterday. I did get half the boxes to the dump, though. They've really piled up since my surgery.
Mom made a list of potential cold meals yesterday and handed it to me. I'm grateful for it, because frankly, I have a hard time thinking of things like that.
That'll help a lot because in the next 10 days or so, we're expecting some crazy temps. Hold up. Now, yesterday, I was looking at the forecast and it said that June 28 would be 100°, sunny, no rain. Today, it's saying 75° with rain. Either way, the next several days will be pretty hot. Next week will be hot, too. It'll be nice to have grilling days and salad days and cold cut sandwich days. For sure!
According to the Essene calendar, today is the Tekufah Tammuz. Kind of like the summer solstice. I'd planned on doing a grill out for the summer solstice. On the Gregorian calendar, Thursday is the summer solstice. Mind dump time. I think I'll just do tacos today, and then Thursday I'll do the grilling. I could grill out tomorrow. Let's see. What do I have left on the menu? BLTs, tacos, grilled brats with peppers and onion, and grilled chicken with fancy salad (blueberries, and peaches added). We had subs last night. Mom changed from wanting the BLTs to subs. Not a problem. An easy fix. I don't know. It's taco Tuesday, so I want to stick with tacos. Weird, I know. I have quirks just like every other person on this planet. I'll even be wearing my taco earrings today.
