Bangkok is the haven for shopping, food and affordable massages and it is a destination highly visited by Singaporeans. I used to visit commonly known outlets like Healthland, Let Relax or Lek Massage but over the years, they have become increasingly packed with tourists and it gets very difficult to book slots
I was just going through my socials when Panpuri Wellness came up on my feed and while it is categorised as a high-end spa massage place which is not lacking in Bangkok from the get-go, what attracted me was the onsen concept
Located on the 12th floor of Gaysorn Tower, the spa is right in the centre of the main Bangkok shopping district which is really convenient for tired shoppers. The entrance of the spa was comfortable and very zen feeling with wide open space and warm calming lighting
You can register at the counter where you can choose your massage program and complete payment. They have an onsen-only course at THB 750 for adults and THD 450 for children. You can add on the scrub for THB 980 but you need to pay the initial onsen entry first as the scrub is located within the onsen area. I opted for the packaged deal of the onsen and scrub at only THB 1550. There are other wellness packages like facials, full-body massages and foot massages which are conducted in the wellness area. The full price list can be found here
After making payment, each one of us was given a key tag to keep our shoes in the shoe storage area. You can change into the slippers provided by the spa to walk around the premises. Slippers are sanitised after each wear by using the sanitising machine in the area
Right next to the shoe storage area, they have an entire shelf of merchandise which includes their perfume oils, massage oils and other products for bath and body. They also sold perfume diffusers for the house featuring their signature scents. Beyond the registration counter and merchandise shelf is the rest area where customers can get some food and beverages during meal times or simply rest with the hot tea provided after a massage
Since no photos were allowed, I managed to find some photos of the onsen area for reference. After you enter the onsen area from the main rest space, there is a separate counter where the staff will hand you a bag of clothes to change into after the onsen, towels as well as disposable undergarments. They will also pass you another set of keys for the storage of your personal belongings and clothes. After the clothes counter, you will pass a separate lounging area where you can sleep on lounge chairs before coming to either the male onsen or female onsen
Within the onsen, there is the usual bath and toilet changing room space where you get access to the belongings lockers and also access amenities like hairdryer, hairbrush, body lotion, facial cleanser, cotton pads and more. As the indoor changing area is air-conditioned, there is another door separating it from the actual onsen space which is still indoor but humid and warm due to the heat of the pools. There are 5 different pools with some pool featuring water sourced from Japan onsen town. There's also a soda bath, vitality pool, cold plunge pool and another bath that changes according to the season
Other facilities include a steam room, Himalayan salt sauna and relaxation room as well as the Akasuri scrub room
Overall, I truly enjoyed my session at Panpuri Wellness Spa, especially after a full day of walking and shopping. My friends did the aromatherapy massage and they also fully enjoyed their session. It was a pity that we went in for the last appointment timings so we did not get to rest and relax at the lounges or try any of the food they had available. The experience within the onsen was great with lots of private spaces since the onsen was not too crowded when I was there. Most importantly, the area is clean and well-maintained so I felt like I was transported to Japan right in the middle of Bangkok. I definitely would visit them again
