If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I was in New York City recently.
I don't have a Bucket List, but if I did, Billy Joel live at Madison Square Garden in New York City would have been on it. 🙂 I've wanted to see him live for the longest time (see what I did there ...). I couldn't believe my luck when I discovered that I'd be in the city when he would be performing one of the final gigs of his ten-years-long residency.
I was up in the Nosebleeds and I'm not gonna lie, the ticket was £££ - definitely the most I've ever paid for a ticket to a gig.
But what a gig! What a night! There was Billy, his piano, his band and a surprise (for the audience; he obviously what was going to happen) appearance from his daughter, Alexa. And there was a packed house of 20,000 fans singing along and dancing in or in front of their seats.
The roof nearly came off Madison Square Garden when Christie Brinkley appeared on the jumbotron during Uptown Girl. 🙂 I was shocked when I realised that she must be about 70 years old.

My favourite song, We Didn't Start The Fire, was the first song of the encore and Billy gave an absolutely electrifying rendition and by this point I was definitely in danger of losing my voice from all the singing, yelling and cheering I'd been doing.
Billy was on stage from 8.20pm to 11pm, without a break, and was absolutely at the top of his game. I was high on endorphins by the end and so, so happy that I made the decision to spend the £££s.
