so i think living is impossible putting up with all the garbage and beauty never knowing the truth about ANYTHING and still pretending that we know what's going on when we don't have a clue and we actually do the impossible every moment we're alive since we have no idea what we are why we're here how to stop the insanity that others dump on us and call themselves governments then we see birds and listen to their song and if we close our eyes we can think nice things beautiful things and be carried away by warbles and chirps and we make up stories in our heads and live in them if that's what we feel like doing or people can buy into the lies and live that way and there's always dropping out and getting lost in the wilderness somewhere leaving technology behind just winging it with our dog or cat who are often the ones who make our lives worthwhile and always think wherever they are is fine because all that's really important is that you're together but not everyone agrees with that idea and they don't like people who don't do what they're told to do so there's a division between us on so many levels for so many reasons but it might rain in the spring and when it stops and the sun comes out we can inhale the sweetest smell and we can feel the dampness and humidity that makes our hair go straight but we love it and that's all that matters because what we love is the thing that's important to us and what's important is taken away from us and in its place we are expected to work to death and never see the things we love like family and nature and the blue sky and the grass and it's all done on purpose so that we can't be happy and REFUSE to fight and die for the rich and greedy so that we don't refuse to run on the hamster wheel so they can have everything they want while kids are starving uneducated and shot in the streets that's why keeping us away from love and nature is so important to our OWNERS why it's so important to make us all look away from what's important but the world is in transition and change is coming and pretty soon after the dust settles there will be laughter and dancing and everyone will agree that the emperor never hand any new clothes and the war machine will die because people across the globe will refuse to be made into killers by their government never knowing what they are fighting for and all the nightmares will end and the power will be back in the hands of the people personal power not power over others and everyone will begin to care for the environment and stop the poisoning and killing but begin to clean the oceans and companies who manufacture plastic will go bankrupt as glass companies take over packaging and there will be singing and growth and beauty because people will be free from the deadly work cycle at jobs they hate jobs that take their health and youth and animals will be revered and never harmed and food will be healthy not filled with poison and children will be able to breath again and women will will be respected for their strength and creativity as well as their intelligence and their right to live without fear and kids will have enough food and clean water never be shot to death in the streets and green things will grow and gardens will be tended and animals will learn to trust us and people will be trustworthy and education will be free so that society will be made up of intelligent people who can actually think and reason and everyone will have a voice and be heard and violence will no longer find a place to live because joy will not allow it to enter our lives and habitats will be there for all living beings and no one will be hated or kept down but instead creativity will blossom and make the world a beautiful place where people will encourage others to be friends and learn from our differences and no one will be forced to escape their life by living in a bottle or ODing on drugs because life is too ugly to face and everyone will be beautiful and...
"Hey, are you writing about all that dreamy stuff again?" he asked.
"I am."
"When are you going to give that up? You're wasting your time."
"It makes me feel better," she said. "It's better than eating the entire box of donuts that are sitting on the counter."
"Not as delicious, though," he said, smiling at her.
"Maybe, one day, things will be like this."
"No, my love, not unless aliens change us, or some kind of catastrophe comes long and we are forced to all work together in order to survive."
"Maybe that's what's going to happen."
"While the rich guys are in their underground personal cities, swimming in their pools?"
She shrugged. "You never know."
"Sure you do. Men will never give up their power. They rich people will kill us in the streets before they give up anything. People are too divided over their beliefs to even look at each other. I agree something is coming, what it is, well, that's up for grabs."
"I want a chocolate malt, nice and thick so that the straw stands straight up when you turn the glass upside down."
"Get your coat."
"Okay, but what about the zombies?"
"We have a half hour before they can come out."
"The lets hurry," she said, grabbing her scarf.
"Can't you write happy stories?"
"That was a happy story," she said. "There were birds in it and everything."
"I love you."
"I love you too but be careful where you step, it looks as if they missed the zombie clean up this morning."
"Ack, I hate stepping on rotting flesh, so hard to get off the bottom of my shoes. We pay taxes, the streets should be clean."
"It's a big job, there are a lot of zombies," she said, ordering her malt.
He got a root beer float and they left, waking quickly back to their apartment. Ten minutes later the siren went off and the zombies once again owned the streets.
