Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
"I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.
(Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV))
How are you at volunteering?
Human nature makes us not to like being singled out, unless we get the glory. Most people who seek glory don't volunteer either. They go out of their way to do things on their own that will draw attention to them, that will place them in the spotlight. Volunteering requires an attitude of submission, and that is usually contradictory to human nature. Volunteering requires an attitude of obedience, which is also contradictory to human nature.
To be honest with you, when I read the passage from Ezekiel, I was instantly drawn to the following passage from Isaiah.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
(Isaiah 6:8 (NIV))
Has your attitude changed since accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?
Are you willing to step out in faith knowing that if you are obedient, He will guide you?
If you profess a faith in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, we are called to go! We are called to share the Gospel. We are called to step out in faith.
Are you willing to reply to the Lord with these words?
Here am I. Send me!
