Today's Bible Reading- Exodus Chapters 34-36.
January's Memory Verse- Isaiah 41:10.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Happy almost mid-morning, actually! Our forecast for today: 54°, sunny, 30% chance of rain, winds from the east southeast at 7 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 70%.
Yesterday started with a lot of anxiety and worry. It ended on a good note, though.
The fam arrived around 6:45 or 7:00 last night. They got stuck in traffic. Instead of meeting them somewhere, they came to the house and I made enchiladas. That was a God thing because it turns out that my cousin's kids had been talking about wanting enchiladas or something similar.
We got the house mostly ready. About as ready as we could. Before we left for the eye doctor, the porch was washed, the front door was washed, the living room picked up and vacuumed, the hallway vacuumed, the bathroom cleaned. A lot was done.
While Mom was in the eye doctor, I took the seed packets I'd packed and returned them to the library. Then I ran another errand, went back to the eye doctor and sat there for maybe 5 minutes before Mom was ready to go.
When we got home, we worked on the house a little more. I got the trash out. Mom started really getting anxious, so she started having a bit of an attitude. I proposed just making enchiladas for supper and setting up a buffet in the living room. We didn't know if my cousin and his kids would be staying overnight. We didn't know anything. We didn't know what time that they'd be arriving.
Well, we found out that they'd get there around 6:15. They weren't planning on staying overnight. Pop agreed to the enchilada idea. I ran to the store to get a few extras, then when I got home, I started working on the enchiladas. I made chicken and black bean enchiladas with the green enchilada sauce. I had tortilla chips and salsa con queso on the side, and for the toppings I had sour cream, salsa, chopped cilantro, olives and chopped onion.
There were just enough leftovers to have enchiladas for supper tonight, which is awesome. I had an apple pie for dessert. I made coffee, but my parents and I were the only ones who drank it. My cousin didn't want to be up all night.
All in all, it was a good visit. We talked a lot. Mom talked a lot. She ended up being the chattiest besides my cousin. Pop was in a mood. Not sure why. He was a bit snappy towards Mom and me after my cousin left.
The Lord just worked everything out. All glory to Him for sure. My biggest concern was how Mom would feel and if they'd like the food. They liked the food and Mom did fantastic.
Today, I'll be working on laundry. That's my goal. I also need to work on ledgers. That's all I have for today, though. I'm tired. My cousin left around 10:00 last night. Part of that was due to Pop getting started on showing him the aquaponics setup.
That's all I have for now, peeps. God has blessed me with a slow and beautiful day today, and I'm going to enjoy it. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
