with all the bullshit that it holds in store,
to toil these thankless ventures for my pay
for those who don't hide that me they abhor.
For you I slogged through years of therapy,
read books that claimed to know how to be best.
Was dunked, and saved, and prayed o'er bended knee,
leaned into many other fruitless quests.
Now here I am back where it all began,
surrounded by these geese they bid me chase
on promise I'll transform to Every Man
as soon as I lose weight and paint my face.
Who gives a fuck what they would have me do?
I'm most content alone, unmasked, with you.
