Here we go, early kick off once again for the mighty Reds. This time we travel to Crystal Palace to tackle, our former manager, Roy Hodgson's men.
Crystal Palace are in their usual position of not in the relegation battle, but not exactly pushing for the top 10 either. Over the past week, some fans have voiced their displeasure at the lack of progress which prompted a spiky reaction from Roy himself. Selhurst Park is a difficult place to go and to get the win we need to deal with our own issues.
Our issues stem from a list of injuries once again. Joel Matip has suffered an ACL injury, which has likely ended his season which is devastating for him and for us, especially considering he is in the last year of his contract and he was in great form. MacAllister also succumbed to injury after some robust challenges from Sheffield United in midweek. Thiago, Bajcetic, Robertson and Jota all remain out, but we may be able to welcome Alisson Becker back to the team after a return to training.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Liverpool.
Christian and I have selected the same team. With Alisson, Tsimikas, Gravenberch and Nunez all returning to the starting line up.
Alisson
Trent
Konate
VVD
Tsimikas
Endo
Dominik
Gravenberch
Diaz
Darwin
Salah
Christian says: "Time for a new game this time it's Palace away and even if there is no Zaha there this season they are very strong at home. Last win was tough with Matip getting injured and he has been great this season putting Konate on the bench. With Alexis injury I thought he would be sidelined for quite some time too but by the looks of it he will still be in the squad. Having said that I think Klopp will start him on the bench so then my starting eleven will be this. COYR"
Paul meanwhile has opted for two changes to the team that we selected, with Harvey Elliott and Cody Gakpo preferred to Luiz Diaz and Ryan Gravenberch. Paul chooses this team:
Alisson
Trent
Konate
VVD
Tsimikas
Endo
Elliot
Szoboszlai
Salah
Nunez
Gakpo
"The lads have got maximum points from Fulham and Sheffield United, two unconvincing wins, but it's all about the victories at this time of year. They need to make it 3 on the bounce to keep on the tails of Arsenal before the leaders visit Anfield. We have a number of injuries but we should be more than strong enough to deal with Crystal Palace who are finding it tougher this year. With MacAllister out, and a dead rubber tie in Europe mid week, this is my team."
Those are our predictions at Liverpool FC HQ, let us know your thoughts.
