Question
Thought for discussion…..women in business, sometimes in trying to adjust and fit in a traditional man's world, change how they handle themselves. They scale off parts of themselves which makes them uniquely a woman. And in turn, come off as harsh, witchy, uncaring.
How can a woman successfully navigate a man's world in business yet still be compassionate, show caring in their words and actions and share their natural feminine traits?
My Pondering Answer
Like most things in life there are similarities and differences. Every successful business leader adapts and uses competitive advantages to excel. Women should stop trying to excel by trying to be the same as men but rather be their unique best with their God given talents and developed skills.
Women often are more adept in multitasking, nurturing, communicating and emotionally aware. It's a fact that they are more connections between the left and right side of their brains. That's an advantage in certain aspects.
On the other hand, mothers are traditionally are the primary caretakers of children so therefore they usually cannot dedicate the same amount of time working outside of the home. Raising children is important and it's sad our modern society often looks down on that for it's been well said:
"The hand that rocks the cradle rules the word"
I was out surveying a security system at a local children's camp a couple of months ago. The director was driving me around on a golf cart. She was on the phone given commands, on the radio providing guidance, talking to her staff are she drove all the while telling me what she needed in regard to security.
I said to her, "Wow, you really do well running this place."
She said emphatically, "I am a mom!"
That's awesome Very much a Proverbs 31 lady.
Take the best and leave the rest.
What say you?
