Today's Bible Reading- Mark Chapters 8-10.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 68°, sunny with a few clouds, no rain, good air quality, winds are from the northeast at 6 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 80%.
Saturday was a busy day. Pop and I spent the entire day building the greenhouse. It's really nice. I'm excited. We've bounced ideas around for the aquaponics setup, but I think we've decided on something. For now.
First, we've laid tarps down on the grass inside the greenhouse. It'll take a few weeks, but the goal is for the grass to die. Once that's done, we'll get the sump tank and fish tank set up in the greenhouse, lay out some contractor paper and lay either some gravel or mulch on top of that. We'll use the previous fish tank and sump tank, but there won't be a grow bed on top of the fish tank like there had been.
We have another rain barrel we can use as two grow beds, and we'd only have to purchase one barrel to finish the second grow bed area. It's a small greenhouse. We have about a 9 foot by 11 foot area to work with.
In other news, the fish are doing okay. I think I've figured out why their water has turned green. Well, I think the Lord showed me why their water is turning green. The pleco food! The tablets that I bought the plecos have spirulina and krill in them. Spinach, too. It just occurred to me on Saturday when I was feeding them.
Also, I've finished my fair isle socks. They are super cute. I can't wait to wash them and wear them. I have another pair started, but I'm not sure how this will work out. We'll see.
That's about all I have time for right now. I need to get my shower and get ready for the day. We have to leave in about an hour for Mom's doctor appointment. We'll have to leave early, too, because I need to fill the car up.
Supper tonight will be hamburger stroganoff. Another recipe from the 1976 Betty Crocker. I made a French apple pie yesterday, and there's enough left over for dessert tonight. It's delicious, by the way. I used the French variation for the 9 inch apple pie recipe in the 1976 Betty Crocker. Very sweet, but delicious. I added about a tablespoon of chopped walnuts into the crumble topping as I was making it.
Okay. That's all for now. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
