Yes indeed. It's a part of being tactful but not fake. Sometimes it's necessary and inevitable to:
Let's agree to disagree
Just because you don't agree philosophically, intellectually and/or principally, it doesn't give one a license to be a jerk, ride and vehemently obnoxious.
No doubt there are times to move on, cut bait and separate but always try to avoid burning bridges unless it's an meaningful and necessary burn.
