When Janome debuted the ground-breaking Continental M7 Professional with it's giant 13.5" throat space to the right of centre needle position, it left us all pondering "where are we going to put it?" Many wondered if the machine's new big body would fit into the opening of their existing sewing table.
Janome Continental M7 Professional
The Janome Continental M7P was at the time the largest domestic sewing machine, so no one had a table to fit it when recessed down with the bed of the machine flush with the table. That soon changed, however, as companies such as Arrow Sewing and Canada's own Eddycrest Furniture began making tables to accommodate. Inserts are available from Sew Steady , so there's now many options available.

This is also true for the Janome Continental M17, which has a similar body to the Continental M7. The CM17 will fit into the same table as the CM7, but you'll need a different insert, however, as the back of the Janome Continental M17 is slightly different than the Janome Continental M7. State which machine you have at the time you order and one will be sent along with the table.

Janome Continental Series Sewing Table Part Number: 494719002
The Janome Continental Series Sewing Table has thick tubular steel legs and crossbars to the frame for added stability. Two handy drawers and a cubby for larger items keep your supplies organized and close at hand. There's a gap in the front of the frame so the Knee Lifter, which comes with both machines, can be used.
Pair up a comfortable Arrow Sewing Chair in your choice of fabrics, colours and prints, and you have an efficient sewing area, even if you don't have this set up in a separate sewing room.
We often take for granted that we all have dedicated sewing rooms, but we know many of you need to carve out a sewing space in the dining room, basement, family room, or even Master Bedroom. We sewists are resourceful people, so we'll find anywhere to do what we love! lol! Having the right furniture which doesn't take up a lot of space is definitely key to make it work.
