Dear friend,

Democrats are doing all we can to keep the economy on track and lower the cost of living for our neighbors, but House Republicans are making it tough by threatening to default on America's bills.

Speaker McCarthy's reckless Default on America Act increases the odds of a recession and is projected to cost 780,000 jobs. If extreme MAGA Republicans default on our debt, the economic disaster will hurt everyday Americans. It would force layoffs for hundreds of thousands of teachers and first responders. It would and rip food, housing and health support away from families and seniors. It will gut newly available clean energy tax credits to lower cost of energy for families and businesses. slash health care for veterans.

I voted NO to protect Floridians from the extremist MAGA agenda. It does not have to be this way. We can lower the debt and deficit like we did under the Inflation Reduction Act and keep our economy on track.
