Today's Bible Reading- Leviticus Chapters 20-22.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 62°, sunny with some clouds, 60% chance of rain this afternoon, and good air quality.
Yesterday was productive, but not as productive as I'd planned. I managed to balance the ledgers, clean the litter box, get the trash out, and move the church feeder to a higher branch. It's now on the same tree as the other feeder. Just a little higher. I had to use the ladder to do it, and it's fairly uneven ground, so it was tricky. It's done, though.
I didn't make it to the pet store, though. By the time I got all the other stuff done, I figured I'd make supper early and then just reheat as we wanted. Mm. I forgot how long it takes to put scalloped potatoes together. I also forgot how long it takes for scalloped potatoes to cook. Over two hours, y'all. Two hours. Over! By the time I popped it into the oven, it was almost 2:00. By 4:00, the potatoes still weren't completely done. I took it out at 4:30 because the cheese on top was starting to burn a little. It was good, though. Comfort food. I'm glad I didn't add salt, either, because it was pretty salty.
Today is Friday, so that means ledger balancing (a daily task), a trip to the bank, and something new today: Mom has to go to the lab. We're not sure if we'll be able to get her in today, but it needs done. See, Medicare will only pay for the lab once a month, and they're pretty strict on the schedule. Her doctor visits are once a quarter, so we have to time everything just right so the lab work is done at least a day before her checkup. Otherwise, there's no point in going because the check ups are to go over the lab work. February is a short month, so I'm hoping that she can get in today. If Medicare doesn't pay for it, though, it's gonna cost $1500. Yeah. Who has that kind of money just laying around? Not me.
A trip to the pet store is a must today. I absolutely have to go. Since we'll be munching on leftovers for supper, I don't feel the stress of getting home in time to make supper. That's nice.
If we have time, and Mom isn't in a sour mood, I'd like to make a trip to the garden center. They have a manual cultivator that's fairly inexpensive. I'd also like to see if they have some bone meal, blood meal and compost available yet. Not saying I'll buy any, but I'd like to see the prices. Maybe I could cultivate the garden bed and get some radishes planted! I'd love to know what a freshly grown radish tastes like. The ones at the store are rubbery and not very tasty.
I should probably get some vitamins, too. I'm going to try and focus on my health for Lent this year. One thing I'm going to give up is fizzy. No soda, no sparkling water. Just water or tea. Juice usually gives me heartburn, so I'll stay away from that. I found two big bottles of aloe vera juice at the store, so I bought them to help me out. I've been pretty neglectful of my water intake, too. I'm trying to do better. I have to drink three of my water bottles to make my daily intake. So far this morning, I've gotten half of the first one down.
If it's not raining when we get home and I feel okay, I'd like to tackle that last wood chip pile. I'm just going to grate it out where it lies and hope the ants don't attack.
That's all I have for now, folks. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
