I don't know how much I'll be able to type. But i want to thank all of you so much for the beautiful well wishes. I'm grateful to each and every one of you,
The good news is that I don't need surgery, just a sling for up to 6 wks. Could have been so much worse. I went into the patio area and came back inside, then went out again but i had tracked water in and when I was going out my gym show slid forward and I followed, hit the cement and landed on my arm.
The bad part is that i couldn't get up because my arm was broken and the pain when i tried to do anything, made me stop- trying. i've never not been able to get up and my brain could not understand what was happening. i tried for about 30 minutes then crawled to my phone which had flown out of my hand, and called my daughter who called her friend who lives a block from me. she came over and eventually got me up. my daughter arrived and we went to the zoo, AKA the ER, where we spent the next 5-6 hours and finally saw a doctor while sitting on gurney in the hallway because the place was absolutely packed. the woman who took the xrays was related to the nurse in one flew over the couckoos nest.
when i can type with 2 hands ill tell about some of the colorful characters in the er. so we were up for about 30 ours straight. my daughter, stayed overnight. SHE was a CHT certified hand therapist for years and got me in to see a doctor today.cant lay down to sleep but no surgery so YAY
it's the first time i've ever felt completely helpless and if not for my phone i would have been in real trouble.
the break is up by my shoulder.
forgive the typing and the fact that im not answering your lovely comments personally but its just a bit too much.
and yes my daughter has REMINDED ME REPEATEDLY that i should have called right away. shes right but i just couldnt believe i couldnt get up.
