Today's Bible Reading- The Book of Jude.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well and staying warm. My goodness. I thought yesterday was cold. It's downright frigid this morning! It's 55° in the house. Yeah. The furnace is chucking away, but it can't keep up with the cold. Currently, it's 10° outside, but it feels like -7° thanks to 17 mile per hour winds and 31 mile per hour gusts. Teeth chattering cold. Our high today will be 29°, hopefully, with no chance of rain. Air quality is good at the moment.
I had a bit of a surprise yesterday. My cynicism was proven wrong. My neighbor had someone come over and chop up the majority of the the tree limb that fell in our driveway. Thank the Lord for that!
My Christmas spirit still seems to elude me today. I'm hoping some Christmas movies and music will help. The sweet potatoes are already in the oven cooking for the sweet potato casserole. I'm making a half batch of Mom's recipe.
Today I'm also hoping to make the Jello salad and the relish. I may even opt in for making the macaroni and cheese. Then I only have to reheat things tomorrow aside from making the baked beans.
I'd like to try and start my car today. At the moment, I'm concerned that one of two things may happen. Either it won't start, or the engine block could crack from the cold. Not starting is the expected outcome since we're not used to such cold, but man, if the engine block cracked, we'd be up a creek. I'm going to wait until it's quite a bit warmer today to try and start it. Let the sunshine heat it up as much as possible.
That's all I have for now, folks. I hope you all have a wonderful and warm Christmas, and I'll talk to you on Monday.
