Durga Puja in Hyderabad, India.

Durga Puja is celebrated in different parts of the country. The festival is also called Navratri ( nine nights) in most of Northern India. Though it's a 10 day festival , the last five days are considered to be significant ones. It's a big festival for Bengalis, beautiful pandals are set up as you can see we visited the pandal and clicked a picture. There were well-crafted idols set up with cultural performance and various rituals take place every day. There were so many food stalls where there are Bengali main course, snacks and different type of sweets.

Durga Puja 2022 Dates are :

01) Maha Shashti : October 1

02) Maha Saptami : October 2

03) Maha Ashtami : October 3

04) Maha Navami : October 4

05) Maha Dashami : October 5

Maha Shashti we ( I and my husband ) went to Keyes School which is in Secunderabad which is like 17 kms from our place. We had a long drive from our home, it was raining a bit and we enjoyed the cool breeze through out the journey. As it was Saturday there was so much traffic on roads, I can see festival vibes everywhere. We took a different route and reached the place, as it was the first day all stalls were no open. There are so many Bengali families in Hyderabad, this festival happens every year here. The Bengali association every year celebrates here. After visiting there I can feel the festival vibes everywhere, the pandal was so nicely decorated and we took blessings of goddess.

The first above picture is front of the pandal where we visited, you can see the pandal decoration and people are going inside to worship goddess. The below picture is some jewellery which I bought from a shop in one of the stall. I really loved the jewellery, I love collecting artificial jewellery. They are so trendy and beautiful. After Puja and shopping we went for having some Bengali delicacies. So we had some specials like mutton chops, chicken egg rolls and Bengali sweets. The food was really awesome the chefs who prepare food came from Kolkata. I really love Kolkata food which is very rare to find in Hyderabad.
We also packed some sweets to home and everyone at home liked them so much.

This is on Shashti 🙂

Next on the following day Saptami on Sunday we visited Miyapur Bengali association where are also same so many families came to take blessings of goddess and I really felt the vibe. This Puja a little near to our home. There are we took blessings of goddess and had food like Kolkata Chicken Biryani, Rolls of chicken and egg and sweets. The food here also was really awesome, we bought fish fries and sweets to home. I really had a great time here in Miyapur Bengali Association we came first time here.

Yesterday was Ashtami and we went to NTR stadium near Ramakrishna Math where every year they celebrate grandly. This is the first time they took the stadium, people were taking blessings from goddess, giving anjali to goddess and having Bhog there ( Bhog a prasad given to people after Puja).
There were so many people who came there from different parts of the city. We had Khasta Kachori with aloo dum ( Potato curry ) , fish fry and sweets. The quality of food was so good and they were yummy too.
While going to NTR stadium , I got a glance of Hussian Sagar which was near lower tank bund. The view was really great and luckily traffic was less as it fell under working day Monday. The distance from our home was like 18-20 km. I really had a great time and festival vibes everywhere.

I appreciate my husband for taking me to many places where Durga Puja is celebrated and accompanying to many places where Puja is celebrated grandly. This year is the best year till date as we went for 3 days back to back to different pandals. There were also cultural programs going on there, we couldn't wait so long as they will take place in the evening.

During returning time to home we just visited Next Galleria mall, did some shopping and we head back to home. As we took rare Bengali sweets to our home where all our family together had a great time.
Today is Navami we are celebrating at home. Tomorrow is holiday Dussehra a public holiday in India.
Dussehra is also celebrated in great manner. I just wrote this post ahead because I couldn't wait to share my happiness with all the readers of the blog from all over the world.

I am feeling really happy as I am sharing our Indian culture and festivities to all over the world.
I hope everyone will know the festival vibes of India.

I am really happy that tough we are in Hyderabad, we got a chance to see pandals, decorations, food and festival vibes like in Kolkata.

So this is how we are celebrating Durga Puja so far.
