An inspirational man who set up a city charity will be delivering a series of FREE motivational talks, starting this month in Milton Keynes – the Life Challenges Series of Talks.

Charlie Wardle set up the Climb Your Mountain charity in 2008 to help people to overcome their personal challenges they may face in life by pushing themselves mentally, educationally, and physically. It was originally set up by Charlie after he confronted his own personal challenges and overcame depression.

Over the last 14 years he has helped thousands of people by encouraging them to pursue outdoor activities, like walks and hikes to help them focus on a new goal, stay motivated and show that they can achieve anything with a positive mindset and belief in themselves.

The talks have been delayed in the last few years, firstly because of COVID-19 restricting people from meeting up in large groups and also because of Charlie's own battle with cancer.

Charlie said: "I've experienced cancer first hand and it was a real shock as it just came completely out of the blue. One of the big things I realised is that it doesn't just affect the person going through it, it also affects their friends, family, colleagues and so many more people they're close to."

"The subjects we're talking about are ones that touch so many people and everyone will have some experience of cancer, or depression or anxiety, so they will know how some of those things can affect a person, as well as their friends and family too."

The talks are set to be held at David Lloyd Health Club on September 26, October 3 and October 10, between 6-8pm and will cover three topics. The first one will be 'Dealing with Cancer – What I Have Learnt,' the second will be 'Beating depression and becoming a Superhero,' and the third will be 'Overcoming Anxiety & Boosting Confidence.'

Charlie added: "We want people to come away with a feeling that they can overcome anything. There may be things they didn't realise, around these subjects or themselves. We want those coming to the talks to leave with additional knowledge and understanding to benefit themselves and others. On top of that we want to get people interested in the free walks and the free books which we feel will not only be interesting but beneficial to people too."

Following the talks, some of the books will also be available so that people can continue their learning journey in their own time.

Spaces for the talks will be limited, so people are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible by emailing info@climbyourmountain.org.
