I would like to start with gratitude this Monday. There is no better way to start the week.
I have started to cook more often, and learning to do it with fresher ingredients. I always had a bad habit of just getting ready made meals, or getting Ubereats/Take Away.
Doing this has actually cost me a lot less and benefit me more. I am saving money and I get to cook for my housemates, who always show appreciation for my cooking (even if it all goes wrong).
I am so grateful for the friends I get to live with.
As time has gone on, I am starting to invest more into myself and my living space. Something which has always scared me.
I was always scared of something going wrong and having to move out. Something that has always happened. Before living where I do now, I lived out of one purple duffel bag. It has seen me through everything since living in Perth circa 2014.
But now, I have been buying furniture, things to benefit my health in the long run.
So in saying that. Here are some things that I have started getting into and buying to allow me to improve myself.
- Air purifier - help with my allergies
- Better quality skin care products - I used to avoid this as much as possible. But as I am getting older, I feel like this is something I need to take more seriously
- Following previous point - SUNSCREEN. Mah gawd, how did I always forget to add this to the list for so long?
- Work life balance - I am slowly learning to avoid looking at work emails during my weekends
- Early morning work outs - as soon as I roll out of bed, I don't think about it, I just move my body as much as I can. Squats, crunches, leg lifts, resistance band. I try and pump those out in 15 mins before getting ready.
- Taking my time - I try not to rush myself so much. While I do try and make my work out fast as possible, I like to then take my time after that with getting ready and preparing myself for the day.
- Meditation -as my therapist says, I need to learn to sit in discomfort. That's all I am learning at the moment with everything.
There is a lot more that I am slowly getting through, and as always, I am still learning. There is a long road ahead of me and I need to stick to it.
Which is what makes this blog something better for me to stay accountable.
