Milton Keynes-born football star Leah Williamson captained the England team as they defeated Germany in the final of the 2022 European Championships.

In front of a packed Wembley Stadium filled with over 87,000 spectators in a record attendance for a Euro's game, Williamson played the whole game in the centre of the England defence and earned acclaim from pundits for her performance.
A 2-1 victory after extra time would end with the 25-year-old Arsenal player duly lifting the trophy as part of the loud and passionate celebrations at the end of the game.
Success means England have won a major honour in women's international football for the first time, and the honour is also a first by an England international team since the men's team won the 1966 World Cup, also at Wembley Stadium.
England took the lead just after the hour mark when substitute Ella Toone dinked the ball over Merhle Frohms in the German goal, but a slickly crafted goal from Lina Magull saw the Germans equalise and force extra time.
But five minutes into the second half of extra-time, England substitute Chloe Kelly forced the ball over the line at the second attempt, and the team held on to take the victory.
The result sees England manager Sarina Wiegman win her second European Championships title in a row, having won the 2017 tournament as manager of The Netherlands.
Williamson, who was born in MK and grew up in Newport Pagnell, was appointed England captain earlier this year by Wiegman, and duly played in every game at the tournament.
In an emotional interview talking to the BBC after the game, Williamson said, "I just can't stop crying. Something like this, we talk and we talk and we talk and we've finally done it.
"It's about doing it on the pitch and I tell you what, the kids are alright. This is the proudest moment of my life until I have kids, I suppose.
"I'm lapping it up - I took in every piece of advice to take every single second in because you are going to want to relive it, and I'll be reliving that for a long time.
"The legacy of this tournament is the change in society is everything that we've done. We've brought everybody together, we've got people at games.
"We want them to come to the Women's Super League – the legacy of this team will be the start of the journey."
