Congratulations on publishing Of Flames & Embers. How long has this book been in the making?

Of Flames & Embers took me almost 2 years to complete. Being a working university student, I had to balance being a writer, school, and my job. But eventually with a bit of help from people around me I managed to finish writing it.
What inspired you to write?

Hopefully this doesn't sound cheesy but I am inspired by other authors. Their perseverance of writing something that readers can connect to is something that inspires me to write.
Did you model your protagonist after anyone you know or is she purely fictional?

To a degree my protagonist is based on certain characteristics I see in myself. But wholly speaking she is fiction.
What do you enjoy most about writing?

What I love about writing is getting the opportunity to turn the impossible to something possible. For example, magic. In our day-to-day life most people consider magic to be a hoax, something impossible. But as a fiction writer I can turn it into something authentic, a gift that my characters are born with.
Is the ending of this series predetermined or will it be a surprise ending even for you?

When it comes to Of Flames & Embers which is book 1 of the Elemental Heir Series, I already know what the ending will be. I feel that a lot of my readers will be shocked and a little upset with how I choose to end Melanie's story. While other readers will be more accepting of the ending.
When should we expect the sequel to this book?

Hoping that there won't be any problems during the writing process, I'm hoping to release the sequel, Throne of Ashes, no later than winter of 2022. Sequels are always tricky but hopefully my team and I will reach our goal.
Do you have any favourite characters?

Aside from Melanie, the main protagonist in the story. My other favourite character has got to be Šilferyn. I really enjoyed creating him because in my eyes he's a representation of what a true friend is. Someone who is loyal, caring, and blunt in his honesty.
Do you plan to write other in other genres or would you rather stick to the same genre and universe?

Honestly I wouldn't mind branching out to different genres. By doing so I'm giving myself the chance to grow and develop as a writer. And hopefully my readers won't mind coming along for the journey no matter what I release next.
What's your advice to other debut authors?

My advice to debut authors would be to step back from what you're writing if you start to doubt yourself. Because there will be moments when you start to question if writing is in the cards for you. When doubts like that creep in, step back from writing for as much time as you need until you piece together what motivates you to write.
On a personal level, when I was writing Of Flames & Embers, I pushed the manuscript to the side for several months because of my own insecurities regarding its potential. But like most authors/writers I continued to write again when the necessary inspiration hit me in the head.
Where can your fans reach you and connect with you?

I enjoy connecting with new people and wouldn't mind getting in touch with new faces. I'm more active via my Instagram, inori_i.r or simply through my e-mail. Hope to hear from you guys soon!
