With Christmas and New Year festivities now over, I'm back to birthday cards. Maybe Mothering Sunday or Easter cards, or random just-because cards. Maybe, this year, I will manage Christmas cards throughout the year, so there isn't a mad rush in the autumn. I know, I say that every year. But this (last) year I have some festive stamp sets I didn't get around to playing with for Christmas 2021, and I don't really want them to hang around for a year before I do. My craft room isn't that big.

But, in a little break from Christmas cards, it's back to a favourite: a House Mouse stamp of mice gorging themselves on birthday cake.

I've used it several times before, and sometimes when I just want to stamp and colour. I got a nice big set of colouring pencils for Christmas, so I expect I'll be doing more of the stamp-and-colouring, to play with all the different shades.

The backing paper came from a random pad, bought, probably, in a burst of enthusiasm without really thinking about whether I really liked the patterns and colours. But it works well, I think, as a background for the mice. Perhaps I'll work on using more of the papers I've picked up over the years this year...
