Today's Bible Reading- Ezekiel Chapter 40 & 1 Peter Chapter 5.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. It's a bright and sunny day here today, but our high will only be 53°.
Pop left yesterday afternoon to head back to work. Our cupboards were pretty bare, so I had to scrape around and rig up some dinner. I ended up frying some pork chops and served them with mashed potatoes, milk gravy and steamed carrots. I got a bit sick eating my pork chop because it was almost all gristle.
. The potatoes and gravy and carrots were good, though.
The trip home on Saturday was quite different. So, my brother-in-law wanted us to hang out with them and have lunch at the airport, but it didn't quite work out that way. I didn't think they'd have enough time to chill out. It's international travel, so there's not only TSA to go through, there's customs. Add the fact that there's six kids and a cat to that……that's a recipe for crazy right there. Well, let's just say my gut feeling was right. There was an issue with the car seat. The airline wouldn't accept it at all because of it's size, so a family friend who was hanging out with us ended up going to Walmart and purchasing a smaller seat that the baby could lay in on the trip. By the time she returned with the seat, we were officially in scramble mode.
We ended up not even having lunch with them or even chilling at the airport. We had to just drop them off at the international departure terminal and exchange a few hugs and a few tears. Then came our trip home.
I wanted to get out of Atlanta before we stopped for some food, and we were taking the back way home. I missed a few turns and we had to re-route, but eventually we were on the way. Then, I missed another turn quite a while after we were out of Atlanta, and ended up coming to a light where a Bojangles was right across the intersection. I said let's just pick some Bo's up. I don't even know where we were at, but it was Providence that we missed a turn and ended up at that Bojangles. It was the most delicious Bo's I've ever had. The fries were piping hot and well seasoned, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and whoever made the biscuit knew what they were doing. The tea was ice cold and not too sweet, and it was fresh. It was so good. We needed that.
We ended up getting home around 7:30 Saturday night, and Gracie was so happy to be back in her own environment. Yesterday, she slept almost all day. Poor thing. She was worn slap out. I think we all were.
Today is another recovery day. The cats haven't been fed yet, but there's still dry food in the containers outside. We put a couple of gravity feeders out before we left for Atlanta, and I made sure to fill both feeders up with dry food.
Mom woke up about 30 minutes ago, but I've been up for a little bit longer. I'm just slow moving today. I may go out and get some groceries tomorrow. Not today, though. I need to focus on finances today. I have some bills to pay that I forgot to deal with before we left.
That's all for now, folks. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
