This morning I choose jasmine fragrant air
and sweet silence. Green-blue sanctuary
cannot replace the lake but here I'm safe.
Breathe unridiculed, erase the strafe.

My plants fresh-watered after their dry move
reach leafy fronds into new spaces, prove
we made it through the sanctimonious
storming--creeds obtrude acrimonious.

Conforming narrative vacuity's
deemed necessary. Perpetuity's
grip I slip in the new time line. The shift
is swift though the intense passage adrift

in chaos made me doubt my worth. Rebirth
a gift I give unstintingly to me
wittingly. The decades spent supporting
others' dreams transmuted gold rewarding.
