The old Public Baths, Eastway, Hackney Wick, London, November 2021

Those wonderful building, a cross between Art Deco and modernism, opened in 1936 to provide washing facilities for the local community. There were 24 baths for men, 24 for women, and high tech washing machines were provided in na additional wash house. There is an old newspaper article here announcing the opening and explaining the facilities in technical glory.

The building has been renovated and now offers public space, art studios and a cafe.
