Welcome to Thursday Doors, a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in on the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing your link in the comments below, anytime between 12:01 am Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time).
I'd like to wish everyone in the US a Happy Thanksgiving. Since this is primarily a US holiday (on this date) Thursday Doors continues as usual. My presence may be limited, late or sporadic, but I will get to all the participant posts. I can't say the same for other readers in the US – for most of us, this is a busy day.
I chose the photos in today's gallery specifically since I don't know much about them, other than that I found them appealing. The only exception is the door at the Owls Club. That's a men's fraternal organization. The reason I included it is because my father was a member of this organization in a suburb of Pittsburgh.
I also thought I'd take advantage of this day to give the participants a look ahead at the Thursday Doors schedule. As you know, December is an interesting month for this blog challenge. It's a very busy month for people all around the world and we do our best to try to make it easier.
December 2nd– Next Thursday will be a normal Thursday.
December 9th– This week will include an optional challenge. If you are so inclined, I am suggesting that you share holiday doors. There are many holidays celebrated this time of year, and you are welcome to call attention to any holiday you prefer. Since the challenge is optional, you are also free to ignore it. Thursday Doors, the no pressure blog challenge. As this challenge takes time off at the end of the month, feel free to use photos taken in prior years.
December 16th– This week is traditionally when we share our favorite doors from this year. What doors were you particularly proud of this year? Which ones made you happiest? Which are special. The good news is you already took the photos, and they are in your library.
The 16th is also the day we will begin accepting entries for the 2022 Thursday Doors Badge Contest
December 23rd– There will be no Thursday Doors challenge and I will not publish a post to link to.
December 30th– There will be no Thursday Doors challenge. Thursday Doors Badge entrees will be due at midnight EST.
December 31st– I will post the Thursday Doors Badge Contest entries and voting begins.
January 4th– Thursday Doors Badge Contest voting closes.
January 6th– Thursday Doors Badge Contest winner announced. The badge will be posted for everyone to download.January 13th – We will begin using the 2022 Thursday Doors Badge.
Again, Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate. Please check out the doors from the other participants, and remember, the challenge is open until noon on Saturday.
