I am extremely thankful to have Snowdonia National Park practically on my doorstep. It's such a beautiful part of the world and so today I thought I would recommend 4 things to do there. There's so much this beautiful place has to offer so I hope you enjoy this post!
A lot of this is based on what I've seen and done. Snowdonia is a big big national park so there's plenty that I've not mentioned in today's post. If anyone has any other recommendations, feel free to leave them down below!
1) Sightseeing/walking
I know this is an obvious one to start with but it's one I have to mention. There is so much natural beauty within Snowdonia that you can see by walking and driving around. I would highly recommend taking a visit to the Lonely Tree which is in Llanberis. That's what you can see in the photo above and it's absolutely stunning. I would also recommend taking the time to see Beddgelert. It is an absolutely beautiful village with stunning scenery, a lovely shop, a delicious cafe and lots of places to walk and explore. There's obviously much more for sightseeing and walking in Snowdonia but this is just what I've seen and done so far.
2) Zip World
Zip World has 3 sites within Snowdonia (and another one in South Wales). They are located in Betws-y-Coed, Bethesda and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Zip World offers a variety of attractions that are fun for all the family. You may have heard that the world's fastest zip line is at Zip World, with speeds of up to 100mph. However, they also offer other attractions such as an apline coaster, outdoor rope courses and more!
3) Snowdon Mountain Railway
Snowdon Mountain Railway is a railway that travels up Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales. The journey is 4.7 miles long, taking 2.5 hours which includes a 30 minute stopover at the summit. On top of the summit, you have Hafod Eryri, a station with a cafe and gift shop (not open until 2022 I need to add). I would highly recommend taking the time to do this. You can also catch the train up and walk back if you wish or I would also recommend walking up Snowdon. There are many paths up to the top!
4) LLanberis Lake Railway
LLanberis Lake Railway is a 5 mile journey around Lake Padarn, which is right in the heart of Snowdonia. It's a beautiful journey with lots to see and takes around 60 minutes to complete. There's a short stopover where you can get out, have a picnic by the lake or chill, and then head back. There's also a gift shop and cafe so it's a perfect attraction for all of the family!
