Baton Rouge : 4th of July
July 4th Celebration at Downtown Baton Rouge's Riverfront Including live music with the Marine Forces Reserve Band from Belle Chasse, military displays, the River Road Marketplace with delicious food, beverages, shopping, arts, and souvenirs vendors and culminating with WBRZ's Fireworks at dusk.
WBRZ News 2 is happy to announce the return of WBRZ's Fireworks on the Mississippi, sponsored by The Baton Rouge Clinic, and presented by Visit Baton Rouge. The largest fireworks display in the Gulf South returns July 4, 2021 at 9:00 pm after a one-year hiatus due to Covid 19.
This year's fireworks display can be viewed from either side of the Mississippi River, in Downtown Baton Rouge or Port Allen. WBRZ would like to encourage the public to join us in our annual tradciton of honoring our great nation. The patriotic ecelebration will be accompanied by a lie telecast live on 24 Hour News Channel WBRZ+, WBRZ.com and WBRZ News 2's Facebook page.

Fireworks at Home
Never allow young children to handle fireworks
Older children should use them only under close adult supervision
Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol
Anyone using fireworks or standing nearby should wear protective eyewear
Never hold lighted fireworks in your hands
Never light them indoors
Only use them away from people, houses and flammable material
Never point or throw fireworks at another person
Only light one device at a time and maintain a safe distance after lighting
Never ignite devices in a container
Do not try to re-light or handle malfunctioning fireworks
Soak both spent and unused fireworks in water for a few hours before discarding
Keep a bucket of water nearby to fully extinguish fireworks that don't go off or in case of fire
Never use illegal fireworks
