Good news for lovers of meat, craft beer and cocktails as Bar + Block has opened a steakhouse next to the new Premier Inn in central MK. Celebrate:MK editor Jon Boyle went along to try a three-course meal.

If you're looking for a restaurant that serves up quality steaks with none of the usual steakhouse stuffiness, then this is your perfect beef joint.

The new Bar + Block Steakhouse on Avebury Boulevard is open from breakfast 'til late, and offers a relaxed environment that I found wholly refreshing in the often 'upmarket' steakhouse scene.

We didn't feel out of place in casual clothes, we were able to sit and chat for over two hours without ever feeling rushed by staff, and our three-course meal was absolutely delicious.

Bar + Block's chefs hand cut your steak to match your appetite, and you can style your steak exactly how you like it.

They also offer huge handmade burgers and grazing plates alongside creative cocktails and craft brews such as Punk IPA, which I was delighted to see on draft alongside Moretti, with several other beers available.

We had the House Sharing Block to start, 12oz Fillet Steak (pictured right) and Smoky Mixed Grill (below, left) for our main courses, and the Melting Chocolate Dome (below, right) for dessert, before rounding off our meal with a couple of lattes.

Overall, Bar + Block is a meaty addition to the central MK dining scene and is a great place to go for a relaxing catch up with friends, family or business associates.
