Be Still . . .

For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.
(Isaiah 41:13 (NIV))
What do you do when you face troubles?
Where do you turn when everything around you is falling apart?
This passage reminds me of the Footprints poem where a person has a dream that they are walking along a beach with the Lord. As they walk, scenes from their life are presented. Some scenes show two very distinct sets of footprints, while other scenes show only one set of footprints. The person asks the Lord where He was during those parts of their life when only one set of footprints were seen.
I love this next part!
The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you."
Do you trust in the Lord?
Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?
Do you walk with the Lord?
How close is your relationship, your walk with the Lord. The reason that I ask this is simple. When you are close to someone, you take their hand. The right hand is considered the dominant hand. Surrendering your right hand is a show of submission. It is a show of humility. You are telling the other person that you trust them and that you accept their guidance.
Who do you trust to guide you through life? Who do you trust to protect you from the evils of this world? Who do you trust to carry you in times of trouble?
Who has your right hand?
