Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 73°, thunderstorms throughout the day, winds from the east southeast at 13 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 95%.
It's rainy, it's windy, and we have several advisories and warnings out. Hurricane Helene is the cause. We have a tropical storm warning for our area. It expires on Saturday. We also have flood advisories because we're expecting up to a foot of rain in the next 48 hours. Then, there's also the wind factor. We're expecting wind up to 70 miles an hour around here. So, for sure, we'll see trees down and such.
We also have potential for tornadoes. Rare in my neighborhood, but still not something to scoff at.
I'm sorry I haven't been on lately. I'm in a bit of a fog at the moment. I forgot to pay a couple of bills. The mower stopped working, I tried to move the garden fence and in doing so, I lost energy, fell and got pinned under the fence. I have a couple of nasty bruises on my knee and my thighs.
The blinky bulb socket came in and it fits! Yay! I have my blinky bulb back! Praise the Lord for that!
Yesterday was spent trying to get into the bank website to balance the ledgers. Their whole new system is very frustrating. I have to have verification codes sent to our phones every single time. It's frustrating. I also spent yesterday trying to figure out how to best get the yard ready for Hurricane Helene.
Then, Mom wanted one of my niece's birthday cards sent out. I had to deal with that. Before I left, I had to move the garden fence, which was blocking my car. I'd left it where it fell on me.
The Lord helped me get it all done, though, and I got it all done just minutes before the rain started. I even was able to move the lemon trees to behind the barn, and prep the grill for all the rainfall.
Today, I have a prescription to pick up for Mom. I also have gumbo to make for supper. I'm glad we're having gumbo. I have laundry to do, a menu to make. I have plenty to do. I have another bill to pay that I forgot to pay. It's a lot, but I've been in a fog this week. We've had super high pollen, so that's probably why.
