Since WWE SummerSlam, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley have been bonded by the betrayals of their now former allies, The Judgment Day. As the pair, known as The Terror Twins, point out, though, their friendship extends well beyond the birth of The Judgment Day, as both came up through WWE's developmental brand of NXT together. Moreover, the two share similar tastes when it comes to music and fashion.
"Damian and I, we were friends way before Judgment Day," Ripley told Instinct Culture's own Denise Salcedo. "We became friends in NXT. We had a close bond because we listen to the same music, we dress the same. I've worn this man's gear to wrestle when my gear disappeared. So when we joined Judgment Day, it only felt right because we were already best friends. We had our orientation coming up to the main roster together and everything. I've known this man for a very long time, and the bond's just gone stronger."
According to Priest, he and Ripley had previously discussed the idea of teaming together on-screen in WWE, and with the inception of The Judgment Day in 2022, that idea came to life. Looking ahead, however, The Terror Twins are excited to test the waters as just a dual unit.
"[The Judgment Day] was so much fun and we were very happy with it, but I think now the vibe is a little different because it's just us," Priest said. "I think we're going to have even more fun than we did in the Judgment Day because so far, that's what's happening. We just can't stop having a great time beating up people we don't like together. It's just us; it's not a group of people. I only have one person to rely on and so does she. It's actually more comfortable."
Favorite Qualities
In further assessing their friendship, Priest and Ripley were then each asked to identify their favorite quality in the other. For Priest, he particularly appreciates Ripley's dedication to being herself, as well as her friendship to him.
"[I love] her mindset. I think her friendship to me and just the way she is and the way she carries herself is one of my favorite things," Priest said. "It always leaves me in awe. It's actually inspiring a little bit, just the way she is and doesn't stop being that way. No matter what, no matter how down she can get, she just can't help but being herself."
For Ripley, Priest's best quality is his caring nature. Despite rarely showing it on WWE television, Ripley further attests that the former WWE World Heavyweight Championship has an all-around "heart of gold."
"What's not to love about Damien, to be honest?" Ripley asked. "I think the thing that I love the most about Damian is that he's just so extremely caring. People don't think that when they see us, because we look terrifying. We're big; we're brutes. We like to beat people up; we love brutality, but this man is one of the most caring men that I have ever met in my life. I'm going to make him cry, but every single step of the way, no matter how annoying I am and whatever I do, this man stuck with me through everything."
