my patio
is covered in a carpet
of yellow/orange leaves
the Black Walnut
is shedding like crazy
it's raining
so the leaves are turning
brown
they're soggy
and slippery
the cat
is sleeping
under the roof
of my cozy nook
off the French doors
everything looks
worn out
but not unhappy
more like they know
their time here is over
and it's all about
goodbyes
from this point on
