Hot off the heels of SummerSlam, WWE returns to Baltimore, Maryland for the August 5, 2024 episode of WWE Raw. Tonight, the Wyatt Sicks made their official in-ring debut. Newly-crowned World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER came face-to-face with his first challenger. A frustrated Bronson Reed took matters in his own hands. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest stood tall as the "new" Judgment Day attempted to wreak havoc, and much more!
We break it all down in this week's WWE Raw results!
Ludwig Kaiser Returns, New World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER Opens Raw
A returning Ludwig Kaiser introduces the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, GUNTHER, who poses with the title in the ring. Gunther introduces himself as "The Ring General," the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion, the 2024 King of the Ring, and now, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. GUNTHER tells everyone to watch and see what he does as the World Heavyweight Champion. Gunther says he is ready and prepared for everyone and everything. He says from this day forth, the legacy of professional wrestling, the legacy of the World Heavyweight Championship, and the legacy of Monday Night Raw belong to him.
Randy Orton's music hits and he walks down to the ring. Orton tells GUNTHER his title looks "mighty fine" looking over his shoulder, but reminds GUNTHER that he is the reason he holds the title in the first place. Orton questions whether GUNTHER really beat him at King of the Ring, considering both of his shoulders weren't down on the mat. Orton also says that Triple H promised fans a rematch between he and GUNTHER, so he is here to cash in that rematch at Bash in Berlin.
GUNTHER mocks Orton and says if his voices are telling him that he can beat "The Ring General" at Bash In Berlin, those voices are wrong. Nevertheless, GUNTHER accepts Orton's challenge for a title match at Bash In Berlin on August 30.
Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
Sheamus and Kaiser brawl before the match begins. Kaiser controls the early portion of the match, before Sheamus takes him down with a series of strikes and an Irish Curse backbreaker. Sheamus later hits White Noise, but Kaiser kicks out. Closing moments of the match saw Pete Dunne attempt to ambush Sheamus with a shillelagh, which Sheamus fends off. Kaiser tries to capitalize off the distraction in the ring, but a resilient Sheamus nails him with a Brogue Kick for the win.

Before Priest can further capitalize, Balor attacks him from behind, causing the referee to call for a disqualification. Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, and Carlito join in to beat down Priest. Priest fends off the new Judgment Day and sets up Balor for the Razor's Edge, but is stopped by Liv Morgan.
Rhea Ripley rushes down to even the odds, and looks to send Morgan through the announce table. Before she can, Dominik Mysterio pulls Morgan off of Ripley. Back in the ring, Priest delivers a South of Heaven to McDonagh as he and Ripley then stand tall and hug in the ring.
