I'm a planner by nature, particularly when it comes to Summer plans. But this year, definite plans are few and far between ...
One, The Boy has announced that he has no intention of trotting around London looking for Slow Summer adventures, thank you very much. He's almost an adult, so it's not as though I can simply bundle him out of the door any more, all the while bribing him with the promise of a visit to a coffee shop. 🙂
Two, we have a large home improvement project beginning shortly that is scheduled to last two weeks, but it's safe to assume that it will overrun into week three or even week four.
So this summer, while there's no overseas destination in the calendar, nor a willing participant joining me in exploring the quirky side of London weekly, we do have a day at RIAT and our annual Northern Road Trip to South Lakeland to look forward to.
And seeing an almost empty August in our calendar made me realise something - this is how it's supposed to be, with The Boy able to assert his independence and for The Brainy One and I to be grateful for all the summer adventures we've had with him in the past. 🙂
What Summer plans are filling up your calendar this year?
