Oh, my goodness! After a year's worth of preparation, Quilt Canada 2024 is a distant memory now, but what wonderful memories we have to share!
Once again the Canadian Quilters Association hosted a fabulously fun show, this year held at the Edmonton Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Next year's show will be at the International Centre in Mississauga, ON, just up the road from Toronto's Pearson International Airport, so check the CQA's website for dates and details. We hope to see you there!
It's been a long road of recovery from all the COVID-related issues the last 3 years, but the vibe at the Edmonton show was "We're BACK!" It was a VERY well attended show! Lots of enthusiastic shoppers, lots of eager students using our Janome machines; 3160QDC-G, 5300QDC and Skyline S6 in the classrooms, and, of course, at a quilt show, lots of amazing quilts, and quilted items on display throughout the showroom.
We were joined in the Janome booth by local Edmonton Janome Dealers, Johnson Sewing Centre. and had sew much fun with them demoing all the fabulous Janome machines, like the Janome Continental M17, which was front and centre in the booth. The giant 11x18.2" embroidery hoop certainly grabbed attention!
Many Janome customers and fans came to the booth to test drive a machine before purchasing. We had the Janome Continental M8 Professional, it's kid sister, the Janome Continental M6, the ever-popular Janome MC550E LE stand-alone embroidery machine with it's big 7.9x14.2" embroidery hoop, and the Janome MC9480QC Professional, among many others.
Others also stopped by the booth to ask us questions about the machines and products they already own. In addition to Johnson's very helpful and knowledgeable team, Brad, Gwen and Monica, we had in the booth myself, Janome Canada National Education Manager, Michael Smith, Janome Canada Western Sales Rep, Sandra DuBeau, and Janome Canada Ontario Sales Rep, Tobias Binder.

We even had Janome Canada Artisan, Kim Jamieson-Hirst spend time in the booth demoing Free Motion and Ruler Quilting on the fabulous Janome CM17.
Since we know not everyone can travel to attend the shows, I did a few Janome Canada Instagram and Facebook LIVES to share some of the fun and some of the amazing quilts on display. Check out the LIVE playlist on the Janome HQ You Tube channel to review!
Janome Canada once again sponsored the CQA's Dorothy McMurdie Founders Award, which went to Bridgette Villeneuve's breathtaking Blues quilt.
Best of Show was also sponsored by Janome Canada. This year's recipient was Deborah Barlow's Weir Fishing quilt.

The National Juried Quilt show seemed endless! Sew many fabulous quilts, and quilted items on display, which you can see HERE on the Janome HQ You Tube channel.
Also on display were the Trend Tex Prairies to Mountains challenge quilts and JN Harper Youth Challenge Explore quilts, which you may review HERE on the Janome HQ You Tube channel.
Thank you to all the sweet Janome fans who stopped by the booth and stopped me in the halls, and in the classrooms to tell me how much they love their Janome machines, and love watching my presentations on Janome Canada Instagram, Janome Canada Facebook, and on the Janome HQ You Tube channel. Thank you all for sharing the Janome love!
We hope to see you all in our Janome booth next year at the International Centre in Mississauga for Quilt Canada, 2025!
Happy Sewing!
