Today's Bible Reading- Psalms Chapters 108-118.
July's Memory Verse- Proverbs 3:11-12.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 91°, partly cloudy, 50% chance of rain this afternoon, winds are calm for now, and humidity is sitting at 95%.
Happy Monday, my peeps. I just sat down after the umpteenth time of Gracie wanting pets while she ate, and the dogs have started in. Speaking of dogs, I bought some hooked tent stakes on Saturday, hooked them onto the bottom of the chain link fence, and pounded them into the ground. I hope that keeps the doggies from getting in our back yard.
I also bought a new mouse trap on Saturday. We'll see if this one catches Mr. Mouse.
Pop fixed the mower on Saturday and finished the yard. It looks really nice. He was finishing up as it got dark and windy. That particular storm blew over, but another one followed it, and boy did it rain! It rained last night, too. It was lovely. Thank You, Jesus, for the rain!
Today is Mom and Pop's anniversary. They either got married in 1976 or 1977. I think it was '77. I spent a little extra money this week at the store so I could make a special dinner. Grilled steak, baked potatoes and salad.
I made fried chicken yesterday. It turned out really well. My thermometer died on me, so in an abundance of caution, I let it cook a little more than I normally would. Pop enjoyed it. I think Mom liked it except for the cumin in the seasoning. She didn't really say much about the meal.
Mom did want me to take her out today. I'm not sure if she still does. Her mood can change fairly quickly, depending on sugar levels. If she decided she doesn't want to go out, I have plenty of things to do around here.
Oh, I told you about the blanket I was knitting. I had to rip it out yesterday. No, I didn't make a fatal error in my stitching. I got chocolate milk on it. I think I spent the rest of yesterday trying to find another pattern to follow with the clean yarn I have available. I did find one, and I'm working on it. It's called a mile-a-minute pattern. Apparently, you crochet the blanket in panels and then connect the panels. I think my Gram used to do those types of blankets. It sounds familiar.
Anyhoo. That's may day today. Possibly take Mom out, definitely grill some steaks and make baked potatoes. I'm still so grateful for the a/c unit in the dining room. What a blessing! I ran the oven yesterday for the chicken and I wasn't mopping sweat up at all.
That's all for now, peeps. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
