Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
(Psalm 23:1-3 (ESV))
Sometimes life just throws things at you that wear you out.
When this happens, and it will, you can place the blame squarely on the devil, the enemy, the serpent of old.
Think about that in context.
The devil is my enemy; he leaves me desolate.
He tries to bury me and steal my soul.
He leads me to iniquity.
He torments me continually.
He tempts me into traveling down sinful paths
for he is the father of all lies.
When you put it into these words, it becomes very clear that we need the Lord as our shepherd, for He will protect us from what the enemy is trying to do to us. However, there is a simple action on our part that must be taken. We must repent. We must follow the ABCs of salvation.
A is for admit that you are a sinner in need of a savior.
B is for believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Him from the dead.
C is for confess that Jesus is Lord!
Do you desire the Lord to be your shepherd? Do you desire for the Lord to protect you from the enemy and give you peace?
The choice is yours.
Do you need this like I need this?
