It has always been a task for the parents to give their children good diet . The reason being - these days their childhood has been drawn towards the consumerism of the food products specially unhealthy packed food. And they must know how it negatively impacts their focus and concentration. Hence everyone around the children should know, whether the parents or teachers , how to increase focus and concentration in the kids.

This will help them to make them feel connected as most of the time they are present physically in the class but mentally somewhere else.
Being a teacher I have always witnessed children getting unconscious early in the morning during assembly or even during very light exercise in the morning or they unable to keep their focus or concentration on the simple task given in the class.
Hence we should do some research on how to increase the focus and concentration in kids and their strength too.My experience in this regard will surely help you in this.
Although the reason may vary from child to child but commonly these are due to following reasons as observed in most of the cases.

Lack of protein deficiency, unhealthy food habits ,unbalanced diet, more inclination towards packed, easy to make food are some of the reasons that hinders the child capacities, capabilities , focus and concentration in their daily lives.
How to increase focus and concentration in kids?- by understanding the role of protein in the overall development of the children
Protein alone plays a vital part in the mental growth of the kids. As per a studies conducted by American Society For Nutrition from one year to 9 years children has shown that a higher intake of protein, especially animal protein, at 1 year of age was associated with a greater height, weight, and BMI in childhood up to 9 years of age. Hence we can say that protein should be the essential part of the diet of children in unadulterated form.
High quality proteins (e.g. milk) in complementary, supplementary and rehabilitation food products have been found to be effective for good growth. Individual amino acids such as lysine and arginine have been found to be factors linked to growth hormone release in young children. This can not be fulfilled alone with milk only.
As a parent,you must know how to make your kid's brain active and increase focus and concentration in all the activities they do during the day.
This you can do by adding some flavour or supplement so that they love the taste . In other words, to attract towards some healthy food is to give a change in colour and taste. How to increased focus and concentration in kids with food that can activate brain
Along with what my child likes, I prefer to add what she /he needs to grow well in both physically and mentally strong.This diet includes super brain food like
- Eggs
- Peanut butter ( PBJ sandwich) which is good source of Vitamin E and antioxidant
- Whole grains like wheat couscous
- Oats or Oats meal like adding oats and banana smoothie with mik. these are full of vitamin-B ,E and potassium and zinc
- Strawberries, blueberries, cherries are the favourite ones for children with full of vitamin -C. Add Indian gooseberry to chutneys or other regular food or as Murrabba
- Beans as salad or with rice. I prefer to make roll with bean salad.
- Yogurt with fruits or Milk with Complan (as told before)
Symtoms of check for protein deficiency
There are many ways by which we can interpret that our child is nutrient deficient in particular protein . this can easily be done by being little vilgilant about the child's growth and his/her behaviour.
- If you see that child's nail are brittle or hair are shineless. even thinning of hair can be due to lack of protein
- loss of muscle mass is another indication of protein deficiency
- bone fracture , getting infections are other symptoms.
How much protein is required to increase the focus and concentration in kids
The recommended protein intake is 0.4 per pound or we can say 0.8 rams per kg. It also depends on sex or how much active the child or person is. This will also increase focus and contraction in your kids.
We always want to give best to our children, so we should be very careful for the food we are giving to our children. Hence always check the label for ingredients so that our children grow as fit in both capacities- physically and mentally too. One they are focused and concentrated on their goals for life , about their decision making, they will surely be the good human beings and good citizens too.
