Be Still . . .

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
(James 1:27 (NIV))
It is so difficult to not be tempted by this sinful, fallen world!
We like to make sure that we have everything that we need while ignoring those who truly are in need. If we profess a faith in Jesus, we are called to love as He loved. That means that we reach out to those who are in need and meet that need.
Think back on those whom Jesus helped. All of them were sinners in need of a savior, yet, Jesus met each person in their point of need. He didn't yell at those who were sinners. He didn't ignore them either. He loved them and cared for them. He healed them when that was what was needed. He showed people that we are called to turn from our sin and to embrace Him. He also said that those who follow Him would do as He did.
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
(John 14:12 (NIV))
Think about that for a moment.
Was Jesus accepted by the Father?
I hope that you know that the answer to this is a "Yes!"
If Jesus was accepted by the Father for His love and compassion, then we should be doing the same!
Are we?
How are you accepted?
